Description
This 1965 Pontiac LeMans convertible was modified in the style of a GTO during a comprehensive 2005 refurbishment. The body was removed from the frame, placed on a rotisserie, and refinished in silver. A black canvas soft top with a glass rear window was installed along with GTO-style hood, emblems, and interior trim.
The car rides on Global West suspension components with adjustable QA1 coilovers and 17" Rally II-style wheels fitted with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Braking is handled by a four-wheel disc system with stainless-steel hoses, red calipers, and slotted rotors. Power steering is also equipped.
The interior features black leather upholstery on the bucket seats and rear bench, complemented by GTO-style door panels and floor mats. Equipment includes power windows, front-seat headrests, and a motorized Kenwood head unit connected to amplifiers and two 10" subwoofers in a custom trunk enclosure. The woodgrain steering wheel fronts a replacement instrument cluster and auxiliary gauges for water temperature, voltage, and oil pressure.
Power is provided by a 468ci stroker V8 with forged JE pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, Edelbrock cylinder heads, a roller camshaft, and a Tri-Power induction system with three Rochester two-barrel carburetors. Additional features include a March serpentine drive setup, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and Hedman Husler headers feeding a dual exhaust system. The engine produces over 600 horsepower and is paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 gears.
