Description
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible underwent a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment in the 1990s. It is finished in red and white and features a white soft top, a Continental kit, an egg-crate grille, rear wheel skirts, and 15" body color wheels with chrome bowtie covers and BFGoodrich whitewall radials. Power is provided by a 265ci V8 paired with a two-speed automatic transmission, and work in preparation for the sale included repacking the wheel bearings and replacing the spark plugs, power steering hoses, front shocks, and steering stabilizer mount. The cabin is outfitted with a push-button radio, power windows, a heater, and red and white vinyl over the bench seats.
The car was refinished in the current red and white scheme during the refurbishment in the 1990s, reportedly by Harold Louisiana. Equipment includes a white convertible top, a hood ornament, an egg-crate grille, rear wheel skirts, a Continental kit, hooded headlights, dual chrome mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim. Paint chips are noted on the front bodywork, and the reverse lights were repaired in May 2025.
The 15" body-color steel wheels wear bowtie covers and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. A matching spare is mounted on the Continental kit. The bench seats are upholstered in red and white vinyl, and the front seat features a split-folding backrest. Appointments include an analog clock, a cabin heater, power windows, a push-button radio, Chevrolet-logo floor mats, and vent windows.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 110-mph speedometer along with readouts for fuel level and coolant temperature. Bowtie-pattern trim complements the body-color dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles.
