Description

This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air. A tube-frame modified 1955 chassis was fitted with C4 Corvette suspension, and a 350ci LT1 V8 paired with a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission was installed. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a power-operated blue convertible top, adjustable shocks, 17" Colorado Custom billet wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, Dynomax mufflers, an aluminum fuel cell, a CD stereo, Vintage Air climate control, power windows and locks, and a split-folding front bench seat. The car is refinished in two-tone blue and features a power-operated blue convertible top, hooded headlights, back-up lights, tinted glass, dual exhaust outlets, a fuel filler concealed above the left taillight, and chrome bumpers and trim. Colorado Custom 17" billet five-spoke wheels were mounted with 255/45 front and 285/40 Continental ExtremeContact tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner, and the car is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. The cabin features a split-folding front bench seat reupholstered in two-tone blue vinyl, and interior appointments include cruise control, power door locks, power windows, an Alpine alarm system, Vintage Air climate control, an analog clock, lap belts, and an Alpine in-dash CD stereo linked to aftermarket speakers. A removable transmission tunnel was installed to accommodate the replacement engine and transmission along with sound and heat insulation. The Budnik steering wheel is mounted to a tilt column and sits ahead of Dakota Digital gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 350ci LT1 V8 is said to have been sourced from a 1994 Corvette and installed in the mid-1990s. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, an aluminum driveshaft, and a limited-slip differential. A remote transmission cooler, a custom exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers, and an aluminum fuel cell with an in-tank pump are also fitted.
